Debate: The "F"-word:Is federalism the way forward to fix Europe?, Wednesday 19 December in Europe House

On Wednesday 19 December, ALDE Party Vice President Lousewies van der Laan will moderate a debate on the theme of the "F"-word: Is federalism the way forward to fix Europe? Despite the pat on the back by the Nobel Peace Prize committee awarding the European Union (EU) with its Peace Prize 2012, the EU appears to be struggling ahead. Therefore, how can we get the European Union back on its feet again and moving ahead? Could federalism be the way forward to fix Europe?

Wednesday 19 December 2012 - 16h00 - 18h00

Venue: Huis van Europa, Korte Vijverberg 5/6, 2513 AB Den Haag

Despite the pat on the back by the Nobel Peace Prize committee awarding the European Union (EU)
with its Peace Prize 2012, the EU appears to be struggling ahead. The Euro zone is not yet out of the
danger zone, Lisbon Treaty novelties are still to be implemented and with the economic crisis lingering,
consolidating the Euro-zone while preserving one of building blocks of the Union, the Internal Market,
poses many challenges.

Therefore, how can we get the European Union back on its feet again and moving ahead? Could
federalism be the way forward to fix Europe?
