11 October: Workshop "EU Liberalization of the Labour Market: From Challenges to Opportunities" in Europe House

The Embassy of Romania to the Kingdom of the Netherlands organizes, on October 11th, the Workshop "EU Liberalization of the Labour Market: From Challenges to Opportunities" in the Europe House.
The workshop will bring together distinguished speakers from the academia and research institutions, central and local government, European institutions, international organizations, trade unions, employers and other stakeholders.

Background information

On January 1st, 2014, the restrictions applied to Romanian citizens on the Dutch labour market for the last seven years are coming to an end. The beginning of next year establishes the full rights of Romanians, as European Union citizens, to enjoy and to contribute to the free movement of workers in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

The unimpeded circulation of workers, services, goods and capital is a fundamental principle of the Union. Its full application is essential to the European ideal and to the European Single Market, which generates countless benefits for all the Member States and their citizens.

There are more than a few concerns in the Netherlands about the full application for Romanian citizens of the right to the free movement of workers. Objective facts and data will answer, in a convincing manner, the questions raised by these concerns. Such facts and data should be provided by those directly connected to the issue in question, they should be debated in a transparent manner and they should be used when designing policies aimed at mobile workers, in the Netherlands, in Romania and EU-wide.

Therefore, the Embassy of Romania to the Kingdom of the Netherlands organizes, on October 11th, the Workshop "EU Liberalization of the Labour Market: From Challenges to Opportunities".
The workshop will bring together distinguished speakers from the academia and research institutions, central and local government, European institutions, international organizations, trade unions, employers and other stakeholders.
